Burned Game Saved File Help

When playing a burned wii game I just realized that the saved files I had from playing the game earlier on an legit version was not recognized and the game wanted to create a new save file. Is there a way to get the original save file recognized or am I going to have to play the whole f**kin' game all over again.

The save file should be recognized unless you downloaded a copy of the game from a different region. Find a copy that is the same region as your original game.
