Backing up Wii Games

Hey all,
I know, read, read, read and I will but I need to know after I did some extensive reading that backing wii games up on DVD can't be done with the new wii consoles. Before I jump into the abyss of info can it be done? I really don't want to mess with the console itself so no mod chip stuff. I reall appreciate the info in advance.

PS: If it still can be done do I need one of those specific DVD drives?

To my knowledge, the 4.2 Wiis can be downgraded and soft modded. There is an awesome guide on the first page of this forum.

Now, you said "no mod chip stuff." I hope you know backing up Wii games on DVD is only relevant on a modded Wii system, whether it be chipped or softmodded.

As far as backing them up, I'd recommend getting one the LG drives for your PC or you can do a network rip via a modded Wii.

Found a local modder and it's now soft modded. Just couldn't take the chance of "bricking" the kids wii. Thanks for everything.
