Hi All,

I'm thinking of getting an xbox 360, wanted to get the cheapest one possible and then maybe use an external hardrive or upgrade the standard hardrive to a bigger one and just put all the games i downlaod onto that.

What i want to know is if i was to buy the arcade version is there any difference to the other xbox's except hardrive size?

And would it be possible to flash the arcade version and play games off an external hardrive or upgrade the standard one?

Can't be done 360 doesn't work like the original XBOX no external hard drive loading available yet do more research

Hi Barnesy91

I bought my offspring an Xbox 360 Arcade in the post Xmas sales last year (Jan 2009). At the time I knew nothing about the different Xbox flavours.

Having been alerted by a friend about the miniscule size of the HD in the Arcarde, just before Xmas 2009 I bought a 60mb drive so saving games etc would be possible. I got it from Harvey Norman and it came with a 3mth LIVE membership.

Don't know if that helps you in any way [shrug]

Hi LG,

Cheers for the reply, Yeah thats what i want to know, if you can upgrade the standard hd to a bigger one and what hd i would need eg 2.5" sata or whatever other kinds there are. I now know that you cannot play games of an external hd.

Also, is there any other difference between the xbox's does anyone know?
