Okay, so i just hooked my PS3 up to my computer monitor and it's all going well except my headset won't put out any sound.
I went into the accessory settings and set to logitech usb headset and in that area i could also here my voice on the my test bar, whatever you want to call it.
I had to select something to do with sound when i tooked up the hdmi to my monitor and i don't know if i picked the right thing, so is there something in my sound options that could do it?
Or anyone else had this problem and how did you resolve it? or you couldn't?
You can't hear in game sound from a usb device on the ps3 unless you route the RCA (red, white, yellow) outputs into a single female 3.5mm for headphones to go into. If your headphones are only usb, then you're out of luck.
Actually a work around could be to use the RCA's to output sound, have the correct PS3 system audio/video setting then capture it through the mic input on his motherboard (or even sound card input) with a 3.5 to RCA "y" adapter and he then should be able to use his USB headset fine.
yeah i suppose that would work, but it seems like a lot of trouble. most of the newer headsets i've come across come as seperate 3.5mm jacks with the option of hooking them into a usb dongle for added features like 5.1 surround. if i were you, i would upgrade your headset, but doing what this the guy in the second post should work too.
