Trouble doing backups for new Wii

I just bought a new Wii, and I have softmodded it yesterday. I have Neogamma to run backups now. I am trying to use dvddumper v1.3, and every time I try to do a WiFi backup, it fails to make the connection to my computer. Any ideas? Internet settings? I'm on a laptop and the network is a 2wire wireless modem (at&t).

I also have a thumb drive to plug into the usb drive if that will work better, but no luck there either. Is there another mod I need to do in order to download through usb using dvddumper? Is there a certain way I am supposed to format the thumb drive?

If all of the above does not work, are there any other programs to use to make backups? I spent the whole day yesterday trying to softmod the new Wii before I finally got Neogamma to finally load and show on my Wii menu. I would like to get some backups going today if possible to test the whole deal out.
