Not sure if I should buy a new internal hdd and a good enclosure or just get a single ext HDD.

I want to load isos from usb.

What do you use?

Version 1 PS2
Fliptop lid
Swap Magic 3.6
NEC 3250A 16x DL burner
Tayio Yuden 8x Media

Eat one live toad first thing in the morning and nothing worse will happen to you for the rest of the day!

Isn't that virtually the same thing?

Anyway, I use a regular 80GB Seagate SATA Hard Drive and bought a ext USB Enclosure for it. Works great with CFG USB loader.

One is an all in one HDD the other is what you have ... a HDD in an ext enclosure.

what type of enclosure do you have? Is it aluminum and does it have a fan?

How long do you typically run the hdd when you play?

One question on the same issue, is it better to have a external HDD with power supply or a enclosure powered by the USB?
I have a USB power external and was wondering if that make any difference other that slower reading/writing speeds.

Yours is better than mine then, I have an enclosure but still need to plug into power for the HDD plus connect the USB to the wii.

It maybe if you don't want to haul around all the cables, USB powered HDD are slower but way faster than DVD. If you plan to take it to your friends house a USB power HDD its the way to go.

I just got a Rosewill HD enclosure with a 1TB HD for about $80.
