i can close it but it opens again and then when it's open it still says opening. Green light is flashing and even when no dvd drive is attached it says it's opening on the dash.

I'm pretty sure this is because something is off track inside your dvd drive.
The constant ejecting is the dvd drive trying to protect it's inner workings because it's sensing something is off.

I've seen this on a drive I got from a guy.
It was a samsung that didn't want to eject anymore so he pried it open with a butter knife and broke off a few teeth on the plastic gears that slide the tray out and lower the laser assembly.

Once I cleaned the drive, the rubber cable and replaced the broken gears it worked fine.

I had same problem and sent it in the track was off and they replaced it hope this helps

It is a result of the gears off alignment inside the player. If you open it and take the player apart, there is a set of gears that are located near the laser, they need to be reset and that should fix the problem, however unless you know what you are doing I wouldn't suggest on opening it up.

I guess it's possible after doing open tray trickto flash but would it still say opening on dash when the drive isn't attached? I'll take a look though

Its not to do with any alighment or anything found it to be from doing the half open trick to read the key. I made it always closing for a one boot up and have never got it back to normal any thoughts
