Is there a aftermarket Xbox 360 controller that will work for the PS3? I've read the Mad Catz PC Con is the closest thing that works. I hate the ps3 controller. Anyone?

There are definitely some third party "xbox-ish" controllers around, a quick google search should help you find them.
Alternatively, see here for a cooler alternative...may cost you quite a bit though ;).
EDIT: Actually, i'm pretty board at the minute so i did the seach for you...hows this look for you?
Or, do your own Ben Heck style mod if you have the time, skills...heres a guide that may help...link.
EDIT 2: That RocketFish controller actually seems to be pretty crappy...Try this one instead...link.

I saw that, but alittle too risky messing up two controllers. I check out the xcm device but it's pretty expensive along with the wired xbox controller. I've seen some lookalikes but alot of bad reviews on them. From what I gathered, the MC PC/CON may be my best bet.

The Ben Heck modded one is by far the coolest, but like you say, pretty risky. I wouldnt be confident enough to do it.
I just read the reviews of the RocketFish one, doesn't look to good.
However, 'cos i'm in a pretty good mood tonight I searched for a better one for you ;).
Just added the link into the second edit of my first post. That any use?

I've used both 360 and PS3 controllers, and I find the PS3 wireless controller easier to use, but I have smallish hands, and it fits my hands better. I suppose if you have large hand the 360 controller may fit better. I didn't like the PS2 controllers as much. You can get adapters so they fit the PS3, if you like PS2 controllers better. I found these on eBay, do a search, it may be worthwhile.

My hands are alittle big for the ps3 controllers and feel cramped. I just ordered the Dreamgear controller. Seems to get the best reviews.

After about an hour use playing MW2. Here's my .02. The controller is comfortable to hold and the buttons are really responsive. You can also turn off the ps3 with it as well. My only complaint is the joysticks have "slightly" too much play in them and not enough resistance. Kinda too loose.
Just a heads up if anyone is interested in one.

Looking for wireless or wired? Any USB wired controller will work on the PS3, I believe. I've tried a few, including an old MS Sidewinder. Possibly the XBOX 360 PC wired controller will work. Then you have an actual 360 controller and can actually get the "real" controller experience you need.
