I don't know!
Im just not feeling it.
I just tried the MAG beta and well after I waited in a queue for an hour, i played it a few time.
Im not here to go on about the wait.

I know its only a beta but its not far from the real game.
It just does not have the feeling that COD has.
I think they put all the money in haven a huge map with alot of people on it,forgot about details.
Sorry I have to compare COD with MAG cause well they are pretty much the same thing.
COD is as close as to the real thing as you can get, truely.
Dont get me WRONG I love the idea of MAG and I want it to be a great game, I have look forward to this game for ages now.
AND WELL IM JUST NOT FEELING IT YET.

I'll Have to try the finished product before I buy it.

WHAT ABOUT YOU GUYS?

Havent started DL'ing it yet. Appears to be a good mix of War Hawk and a modern strategy shooter. I doubt it will win an award for superior graphics but then again, thats not the enticement of the game. I dont know of any other game that will focus on Team work as much as this one thow.

The 2GB download AFTER installation AFTER downloading was really, really idiotic. I still have no idea why they decided to do that.

As for the game itself, I was only able to play as the Vector units (the US-based PMC), because the SVER and... Cobra? wouldn't allow me to connect to the network. There would always be some sort of connection error, and I know it wasn't on my end of the line. Once I managed to get that, the only gametype I could play was some sort of capture-the-base mode. I didn't like playing on either side of it, but maybe that's because I'm just not used to it. If there was a single-player mode (or if the Training Mode was an actual training mode instead of just notes and junk), I'd probably understand it a bit more.

And the shooting was... alright, I suppose. I probably need to get a bit more experience with it. First impressions weren't great, though. It felt like Combat Arms with the CoD "aim down the sights" mechanic.

I couldn't even connect to the servers.

What a joke, I wait for it to download 1.8GB of data and to find that it doesn't work.
If it gave me background download then I wouldn't mind, but I had to wait on that screen.

Maybe I'm just unlucky, but I gave it a few tries to get in a game but it keeps disconnecting me.

So screw it.
I'm a little bored of FPS anyway.

Then the pirate selling games relabeled Assassins Creed 1 and called it Assassins Creed 2. This is called marketing.
Your friend is honest and thinks she plays AC2 on a PS3. In reality she is playing AC1 on a PS2.

It's just like any other shooter except that when the full game is released there can be up to 256 players on one map. Which is about all it has going for it atm, but will players be able to join a game which has already started, cos who's gonna wait for 200 people to join a server before the game starts, that'd take hours!

So true.

lmao! That is so true! During the first few games I played the same thing was happening to me and I was getting really annoyed. Then I decided to play the sniper, and I got kill after kill.

I cant wait for this to be officially released, am going to buy it asap!

Only one thing though, you can only join the sabotage game atm, unless the other are unlocked at higher levels, and there are supposed to be 32 players in one team, but when I check the map there is nothing like 32 blue dots or arrows, is it 16 vs 16 then?

Yup. Same for me. Ran around like crazy for the first hour getting picked off every few minutes. Stayed with it though, 5 hours in and i'm just about there with an XP of about 1480.

There are guys that have XPs into 5/6 figures though and they can make or brake the demo for you.

It feels like it could be a great game. I'll buy a copy when it's out.

Its a great game when you have a good squad, with good comms. It's not a game where you can just run and gun like COD. teamwork and tactics are essential. Also the 256 player battles are unlocked when you reach level 10.

There's 8 players per squad, with 4 squads making a platoon. That's on sabotage.
256 player battles have 4 platoons on each side, on Domination.
You can only communicate with your own squad at first, but when you reach level 15 you can apply for leadership roles, and squad leaders can communicate with the whole platoon. It's a good concept, Although i don't see how a team of 128 players can communicate efficiently.

I didn't enjoy playing for the first few games as i just got killed, but once you unlock some weapon upgrades and get better guns it becomes a lot easier.
I'm still undecided about whether or not I'll buy the game though. As a FPS game it's not the best out there, but as a tactical team based game its a refreshing change from the monotony of the genre.

Played last night. Tried/Wanted to like it but I dont know. After 5 or 6 rounds, I did not have any problems turning it off. 20 second respond delay then respond 20-30 seconds away from the fight.

I have to admit, despite what I said before, the game's started to grow a bit on me. Getting used to the controls has taken a bit of time, but now it's fairly easy to play.

There's still some lagging issues, though, like the very, very bad hit detection. Sometimes enemies will be half-exposed and I'll very clearly be shooting their exposed side and still won't be able to hit anything. The hit detection needs to be substantially improved, I think. The game also seems confused about where it wants you to shoot - whether you should lead a target or just aim right at him. Sometimes I'll have to lead-shoot an enemy that's only ten feet away, and other times I'll have to keep my sniper scope trained right on a guy who's five blocks away. I don't think it has as much to do with internet ping as it does with just general lack of polish.

Another odd issue is the unresponsiveness of the Triangle button. It gets annoying to hold it for a second or so just to lay down, and sometimes it won't even register.

But it's definitely getting to be a better experience. Like bigo suggested, playing sniper makes it much easier to get kills and the like. Even running and gunning with it is preferable to using the automatic weapons.

One last thing, though, that irks me is the sniper's severe lack of range. Even if you can clearly see an enemy that's a fair distance away, you won't be able to hit it. I'm not sure if you need another scope, but it's a bit annoying that you can see your target with a sniper scope yet CAN'T shoot it.

do you like the green dot that covers the target whole head when you're aiming at it?i think it shouldn't be there...

I didn't notice that until tonight, actually. I suppose it can get annoying, but it actually only indicates whether you're aiming at a person (I think). So unless you're aiming at someone from halfway across the map, it shouldn't be that bad.

No, what irritates me the absolute most is the horrible hit detection. I managed to sneak around behind the other team, and they ran right by me. I lined up right behind them, shot both of them twice in the chest with my sniper, and none of my shots hit anything. I ended up dying. It was ridiculous. Again, it has nothing to do with lag, because they didn't even MOVE except to turn around. I shot them at point-blank range.

Maybe I'm just ranting. Actually, I think that's exactly what I'm doing. But the hit detection is one part of the game that definitely needs to be corrected.

I was in the first Mag beta a Month or so ago. I had alot of fun with it. But I also Played the battlefield 2 Beta that just ended and I liked that Way Way Way better There was alot to unlock you could snipe across the whole map But you would have to aim Inches above him due to the bullet drop I also liked how you could Destroy Everything Wait you will like battlefield. IDK all these shooters seem to be Ripping each other off. In Mag I liked sniping the people parachuting,There was an attack map I would tear up every time there was more strategy in Mag then some other shooters I've seen. If everyone works together it's fun.

I liked the fact that there's no kill cams and that there's too many people for you to really run into those vengeful pricks who go out of their way to piss you off after you kill them. Add to that the fact that there's lots of movement in the bushes and surroundings and its a great game for sniping; which is what I primarily do.

BUT and this is a big but, I really don't like the way the guns handle the transition from hip fire to cosshairs just doesn't feel right, and the recoil feels similar to less well developed games where it feels that its more bullet scatter being passed on as recoil. This is more of a problem with the assault rifles than anything but you can still see it a bit in the sniper rifles.

That being said I didn't get a whole lot of time to play the beta to its potential, and since I got some gift cards for eb games for christmas I decided to buy it. Still have mixed feelings over it though.

WEll I did say I was getting more kill as a sniper, but now people know all the good spots and so not as fun anymore, went gunning and didnt realise you could upgrade weapons until I got to level 9. Those helped.

One thing I hate is the hit detections as well, but with me it's the fact that when im shooting from a coner of a building and the enemy player start shooting back I hide behind the wall and yet the bullets magically fly through the wall killing me, really bad physics there.

Wont buy it on release date unless sainsburys do teh half price offer they did with COD. Might wait, and as someone said see hoe battlefield 2 is like.

Do weapons and armor upgrades actualy help. I suck (at any shooter online) but my Son goes off on everyone on on-line shooters. He did not do well with the entry weapons. However, he liked it whild I did not. We only got to play it a few hours before the Bata was over.

I'd have to agree but atleast the map sizes give some creativity and variety as to points where you can successfully snipe. I also noticed a hit detection problem, I hope it is solved in the full game. Nothin infuriates me more than when my bullets dont count.
