Can someone link me to the newest way? I've searched but the results are from November so not sure if there's a improved guide?

There's noway to uncripple your HDD except the way it was done in Novembre '09. And I doubt there will be another way around as the crippleing info are written into NAnd, hence, a need to alter what was written there by the update.
Hope this helps
The HDD (profile) can be "uncorrupted" but that wouldnt change the HDD capabilities crippled in ur box.

it works 100%.
just take your time and doublecheck everything and you will get it to work.after you have got a good dump of your nand
you dont need to hex edit manualy anymore you just use "findsecdata"
and it creates patched files to write to your nand.
i hope this helped

I found the HEX EDIT method to be straight forward and not really problematic. I found the secdata way a bit confusing but ... it's a matter of preference. HEX EDIT works 100%

It is a pretty easy process, like he said just take your time. Also use a short cable, I started with wires over 2 feet and I couldn't get it to work but once I shortened it to about a foot it was smooth sailing and find secdata worked like a charm

yes it's possible. You just need to hook ur drive to the pc, get the actual files with xplorer360 and copy them back to the new 250 GB HDD through Xplorer360 250 GB edition
