hi, does anyone have any idea why this could be happening... i have had a few 360's so i know this is way too loud... it has only started a few weeks back and is only when a disc is spinning... so i have been putting games onto the hard drive when my son wants to play 1... of course thats not a fix... i was hoping someone would know what the problem would be

thanks

the 360 and cd drive are both fully closed?, also how new is this 360?, and how scratched up are the disc's being put into the xbox?, does the same disc on another xbox make the same noises?

hi, i have just been checking and i am not a 100% sure on this but i am now starting to think it is only with 1 game.. i need to check stuff on the other xbox but will have to do that tomorrow coz my 4 year old is sleeping...

the xbox is just over 12 months old and not been used much..the game was brand new (gears of war 2) the drive is fully closed... when it is reading the disc it sounds like a very loud buzzing noise..

i have just tried some more games in the xbox there and although it sounds a bit noisy i am thinking it is normal and only buzzing with the gears of war 2 game..(i did already change the game at the shop and still buzzing)i will have to check with my teen tomorrow coz he will know more about how loud they should be..

a bit weird lol
i'll know more tomorrow
thanks

You may have an alignment issue with the motor or the rubber ring on the motor that grabs onto the disc may have to much fuzz/dust to get a good grab on the disc. It's weird that it's only happening on one disc.

well the game is also making a brand new 360 very noisy.... when i put other games into both 360s they are fine.. so without a doubt it is only the game ( i even exchanged it and still the same.. so very weird)

but at least the xbox is fine

thanks

I happen sometime to have an odd bizzing sound. Especially when I put my console on vertical position. The sound lowers/stops (except the usual lawn cutter sound).
Anyways, putting the game into HDD is a must. to avoid all sounds.
To be honnest, I couldnt stand my XBOX 360 drive sound (the normal one) when my HDD functionality was crippled. I basically stopped using it. So buttom line, XBOX 360 is loud with or withouth that sound ur complaining about.
Did you try to put it in horizontal position and see if it's lower?
