I have a chipped and softmodded wii (to get nsmb to work) but I was modding a friend's wii and am having some issues.

I went through the entire soft mod guide on here (like I did for mine) but on his wii most games will start to load and then I'll get the "The Game Disk Could Not Be Read..." screen. I'm not sure what is going wrong.

Some games load perfectly fine, but most (80% or so) will show the screen to make sure your wrist strap is on and then will say that they can't read the disk.

I know the games work, I burned them on Taiyo Yuden media and they work fine on my wii, just not on his.

Any suggestions?

It's most likely a media issue. Some wii's are VERY picky about what disks they'll read. Mine will read just about any crap brand I can throw at it, while a friend's will only read verbatum -R and memorex +R.

Taiyo Yudens rarely have problems, but you could try a few other brands to test it.

Failing that, there is always the option of a USB loader.

really?!?! I've double checked all the games on mine again to verify that they are fine and they come up perfectly. I actually went to Taiyo Yuden -R disks because i had issues with verbatum -R disks.

Could there be another explanation?
