i might be kind of late seeing as this video was made in jan. 11, 09. But It looks authentic, so why would sony be holding out on a patch to utilize this?

Looks can be deceiving, and the video is a fake. Even software emulation of the PS2 relies on hardware that is not installed in the 40 GB sku. Watch the video again and postulate how easy it actually is to fake it.

Not that hard to swap cases from a 40gb, just as easy to put a 40gb hd in any ps3 too.

watch the screen at 2:45 the channel changes while he's turning the ps3 off. the screen went blue before the ps3 went off. that doesn't happen. he has 2 ps3's hooked up.

On rare occasions, people have got them back from Sony in service mode, means nothing though.
