No matter what I do I cannot get the wireless adaptor to pick up my wireless network. When I scan for networks there is nothing there. I have tried putting it in manually but it still wont work. I've taken off the security on my router and tried all the different types of security. Have moved the xbox around but it still wont pick up on it.
is the light flashing green on the wireless adapter then solid red? a friend of my sons had the same issue and turned out after trying a second adapter that his was broken - it was brand new and was returned for a replacememt.
oh ok, is a pc running hard wired to your router too? If so using ipconfig you could find the ip address, sub net mask and dns address just to make sure everything adds up to what you've put into the 360.
If you are not able to find your wireless network, adding the IP details manually in your xbox will defo not help you. If you had a IP allocation problem then maybe.
Best thing to do it to either test another wifi adapter on your xbox or get someone to test your on their xbox.
Also, may be worth your whilst logging on to your routers interface and changing the wireless channel in increments of 2 and then seeing if you can find the wifi network. (For instance if its set to channel 5, try 1,3,7 & 9)
Thanks guys. Have tried all the different channels. Even turned the security off but still no joy. Don't have anything else I coud try to see if it works!
really the next thing to do is try it on another 360 like miketrev suggested and see if it picks up that network. If it does then you know more work is needed on your setup :)
If your out of ideas just hold down the reset button on your router for 3 seconds then try connecting to your router. If you correctly reset it if its a D-Link router it should show up as D-Link and same for all other routers.

We sell d-link routers where I work, you need to hold the reset button down for between 5 - 10 seconds (may a well leave for 10 just to be sure), this will put the router in a factory default state. Note that your wifi security key will be back to its default one and you will need to reset up your internet connection.
