Hi,
I was hoping someone could help me. (I hope this is in the right forum)
I recently bought an Xbox 360 console and had a guy softmod it with 1.6 firmware.My question is I would like the fall 07 update as it will allow me to veiw avi and divx files. I have it downloaded but should I do the update via USB flash or will it screw up the modded machine?

Any help would be much appreciated.

it wont screw it up, but you will still have to connect to live to watch the avi/divx files. this is because MS decided to not fully implement the codecs as they did with the pre-nxe dash consoles (do to some other people complaining about royalties, and all that crap).

Thanks for the prompt reply.
So basically I will have to transcode divx or avi to a wmp format(mpeg?)ki...that sucks.

So it is baiscally pointless seeing I don't bother taking it online to bother with the update,correct?

pretty much yea (on the pointless update part). however, you can put your console on an internal network at your house,and stream movies via tversity just fine. i stream 95% of everything i watch on the 360.

Hey! That's a great idea. I will definately look into that.Is there a tutorial of some sorts available,If not I am quite sure I can figure it out.
