When Dumping a NAND with NandPro, I get hundreds of lines like these:
Error: 280 reading block 109
Error: 280 reading block 10A
Error: 0 reading block 10B
Error: 0 reading block 10C
Error: 0 reading block 10D
Error: 0 reading block 10E
Error: 0 reading block 10F
Error: 280 reading block 110
Error: 280 reading block 111
Error: 282 reading block 112
Error: 0 reading block 113
Error: 0 reading block 114
Error: 0 reading block 115
Error: 280 reading block 116
Error: 0 reading block 117
Error: 0 reading block 118
Error: 0 reading block 119
Error: 2 reading block 11A
Error: 0 reading block 11B
Error: 2 reading block 11C
Error: 280 reading block 11D
Error: 0 reading block 11E
Error: 2 reading block 11F
Error: 0 reading block 120
Error: 2 reading block 121
Error: 0 reading block 122
Error: 0 reading block 123
Error: 0 reading block 124
Error: 280 reading block 125
Error: 0 reading block 126
Error: 0 reading block 127
Error: 0 reading block 128
Error: 2 reading block 129
Error: 0 reading block 12A
Error: 0 reading block 12B
Error: 280 reading block 12C
Error: 0 reading block 12D

Am I supposed to get all zeroes? Is every line supposed to read:
Error: 0 reading block 228
Error: 0 reading block 229
Error: 0 reading block 22A
Error: 0 reading block 22B
Error: 0 reading block 22C
Error: 0 reading block 22D

When comparing the NANDs, NandCompare tells me there are 1020 mismatches.

About to get p!ssed off.
Gonna shorten my cable. It's about 3 feet.

It took a lot to get this Jtaggable box. Don't wanna mess it up.

Somebody posted in another thread that they were having problems and they shortened the cable/wire to a foot and then it worked...

Now another problem:
As I said above, I was able to read the NAND but was getting a lot of errors. Still the same cable, solder, laptop, everything.

I assume the 360 has to be powered on to read the NAND. For some reason the LPT cable seems to make the 360 shut off, but only when in Windows.

Example: 360 & laptop are connected by the LPT cable.
Power on 360: Fine.
Power on Laptop: Fine.
Black screen before Windows boots: Fine.
As soon as Windows begins to boot: 360 shuts down.

Can't figure this one out.

You do have the A/V cable hooked up to the 360, correct? I know that if not, the 360 powers off after a certain matter of minutes. I'm just throwing that out there, so please don't take offense.

No. You don't have to have the 360 powered on. Just have the power cable plugged in. Error: 0 reading means just that... it's not reading at all. I just went through this dumping a 512. http://www.xboxhacker.org/index.php?topic=13543.new;topicseen#new

Long story short, it appears I had a bad ground. After fixing it I got a dump and in fact the 2nd dump is running right now. I'm not sure what happened because it's the same cable I used on 7 other consoles, but like I said after replacing the ground it's dumping.

Again, all you have to have is the power cable plugged in, not on. Don't need the av, or even the dvd drive plugged in.

I can confirm that there tuts work as i have now got this done : )

Also as stated in the tuts you do not need to power the console you just need the power supply on and plugged in, Also no AV cable required!

Thanks to all that made this possible, all i need to do now is get the games playing off the hard drive!!

That tut is missing a picture, and an important one at that. J2D2.2 can be soldered to either the bottom of the mobo (as shown), or to the rf board (missing picture). Soldering to the rf board means you wouldn't have to completely tear down the 360 to get to the underside.

Actually, looking through it a little better, I don't see anything mentioned about 256 or 512 meg nand's, and I also don't see anything mentioned about relocating bad block.

UPDATE!!!!!

Maybe the power supply has something to do with it. I changed to the power supply that came with the console instead of the one that's in my "mod room", and it seems to be dumping much better. Slower, but better.

(fingers crossed) Will post results later.
