Hello all. I have been looking through the forums and have found bits and pieces, but I was just hoping to get a definitive answer. I bought my wii in the usa, so Im sure that I have ntsc. Most of the downloadable games that I have found are pal. I modded my wii using the 4.2 softmod guide found on these forums. Found a few ntsc games and they work perfect off my external hd. Ive read of people trying to play a pal game and they get semi-bricked and such. So I was just wondering if someone could tell me exactly what I should do to make sure that pal games work and that I dont get bricked or anything like that.
If you're using a USB loader then you shouldnt have to worry about semi-bricking from out of region games as it automatically blocks disk updates.
If you have any issues with the video in games (black screens with sounds playing, black and white image, flickering image, exc) then you'll need to set the video output to forceNTSC.
Other than that your only concern is the handful of wii games that, for whatever reason, refuse to play on different-region consoles.
Yea I should have put that I am using usb loader. So just making sure I understand, I should have no problems playing any games, other than a handful of random games? Is there a list anywhere? Or it is best to just stay away from Japan games or something? And thanks for the quick response.

Lol.
Anyway, I've never found a comprehensive list of games that wont play on different region consoles. The only two I know off the top of my head are zelda twilight princess and pikmin 2 wii remake.
Generally, it is best to get games from your console's home region. If you look on the right sites, you can usually find the US versions around.
Well apparently I need to pay more attention to what Im posting. Thanks penguin for the responses and Ill just have to look for more ntsc games. Thanks again =)
