Hi there,

Ive done a search but been going around in circles with this one.

My nephew got CoDMW2 for Xmas and a few days late the game stopped working. When he took out the disk it had lines around the disk. I heard something about this being from the laser.

Does anybody know anything about this and if the game can be fixed?
Also, is there anything that can be done to prevent it happening to futher games?

Thanks in advance,
ken.

Ken.

It's from moving the xbox while the disc is still in it. Yes, I guess you could say it is from the laser; but it is because the disc is being physically scratched by the lens of the laser from being moved around.

Solution: don't move xbox with discs in it, especially if it is turned on. Don't accidentally bump it or kick it over with discs in it. Avoid moving it with discs. Period.

There's your answer!

as far as fixing it goes, here in the UK you can get games repaired at some game shops and even cash convertors etc not sure how effective they are at repairing a scratch like the one caused by this though as iv never tried them.

Personally, save your money. Xbox discs contain a lot of data and are very sensitive. To repair a scratch as severe as the dvd drive causes is very difficult and often times impossible.

Save your money up for a new copy, good advice ;)

Ha ha my nephew brought call of duty MW2 back to the shop to see if they could repair it cause they said they could. They scratched the disk further and gave him a new game foc.
