Samsung shows off new 3D LED TV with touchscreen remote

Samsung has introduced their latest flagship HDTV at CES this week, the LED-backlit C9000.
The company has called the HDTV "ultra thin" and the pictures seem to agree. The TV has native 3D support, and can convert 2D into 3D. Refresh rate is 240Hz.
The touchscreen remote control can "show content from other sources, like live TV while watching a Blu-ray on the big screen," says Gizmodo.

lol wow a touch screen remote control, I think they're taking this a little to far now. I rather my remote have buttons, its way durable then that. But I have to admit thats pretty cool!

This looks very nice! I love the paper thin screen and the ipod touch remote ;P
Im still fascinated with the 3D features these t.v.'s are having and cant wait to see them in my electronic stores to debate on buying one.

waaiitttt. from the pictures, the HDTV does not seem to have any video ports (HDMI, composite, component, ect.), or atleast doesn't APPEAR to have any..

It could either be under the back cover plat plate or if you look at the very bottom of the base back center to right and side left to center you can just about see some markings that may be inputs.

I guess if the stand is detachable, and being so thin, does it have another "box with the guts" or something?
Now, from a practical point of view, where would anyone put a thin TV like, this that a thicker one , of 1/2 or 1 inch would not fit?

Wow...that does look cool, especialy the remote...I wonder if it works as a mobile MP3 player! Too bad it isn't VESA.

I program remotes for lots of home theater systems, I never liked the idea of touch screen remote. every time you have do any thing you have to look down.
Hard basics buttons on the bottom and small touch screen for soft buttons will be nice.

I would think that you would love touchscreen remotes more than the others, if only for the ability to program wierd remote signals (such as what the cable company here uses). Most people have to look down to use a regular remote anyway, so I think most people don't mind looking down since they do it anyway, and the text is now easier to read.

The TV is stunning, i really like it, brilliant++++
But i dont know about the remote,it looks very elegant but i think that in a week i will have it broken.

The thing looks beautiful and sleek, no one can argue that, I just don't understand the desire to make it so thin, close to transparent. I am sure a 1/2 inch, or even a 1 inch panel would fit with no problem in front of whatever place this one fits...

Someone who's heard of Einstein's General Theory of Relativity and is aware of SpaceTime needs to say it:
All these so-called "3D" TVs are actually 4D.
They display moving not static images, hence they also operate in the time domain. *sigh*

Time is an illusion...especially when what you see on that TV screen can be played back over and over again...nothing is really moving "in time".

I'll never be satisfied with the thinness we can achieve with TV's until i can roll it up and put it in a poster tube. Either that or put it on a wall like paint.

Yeah, they're still so bulky...I wish they'd come up with something small enough I could just stick to the inside of my eyelids, and I could watch TV with my eyes closed, and no distraction...

I agree. Hard buttons for browsing without looking down is optimal (for me at least). But I learned that this remote actually allows you to see a channel on it's own screen that you want to switch to before doing so on the TV. So as to not interrupt others and wait for the commercials to end on the intended channel switch....Cool feature but PiP does the same so I would still rather hard buttons.

They already Transparent Computers screens for the future aplication of 3D with out glasses.
And also a paper thin video screens using old Paper films that you can roll it too !!!

nice 3D tv but, everyone is coming out with, there version of 3D tv
so just like blueray and "HD" high deff. players, you need to wait and see who wins. It suckes but thats the game they play, or you get stuck with the TV that is not suported. Or in my case my blueray player is no longer suported by samsung the newest dvd's will not work without a new firmware up grade they wont give! I should have got a sony but i thought samsung was the best at the time !
so even if you pick the right tv with the right 3d tecnolgy you might end up like me ? wait wait wait and see who comes out, on top!
