just bought a faulty psp 3003pb, its in working condition but its saying that the runner tracks are bent, so it cant play any umds. can this be fixed?? i am familiar with 1000 models but never had a 3000 model, had 2 slims also and ran cfw on both these. is it possable to put a new laser unit in it to fix it, or can the runners be straightend up, havent got this item yet but want to get ahead of it comming, as i want to sell it on when its fixed. any help would be appreciated thanx jimmy............

with replacement parts yea sure anything can be fixed, the issue is whether there are sites with psp 3000 parts yet and prices, could even try ebay or craigslist for people selling cheap or broken psp 3000's.
also there is a way to put cfw on psp 3000's but each time you reset you have to redo the chickhen/cfw enabler exploit as its not a persistent cfw that you would have had on your slims.

it is like the 2000 case so their would be more compatibility between 2000/3000 then 1000/2000 but i have not owned or taken apart the 3000 yet so i can't say.

its saying that the disc runners are bent, wtf,s a disc runner???? priced a new psp laser unit and chasis for a 3000 unit its 28.50, you any idea what a disc runner is?? im asuming its the laser unit where the laser runs up and down on, two little silver screw like things at each side of the laser, its the only thing i can think of that makes the umd disc work when the door is closed

yea i would assume the same, prolly the laser motor that stopped working so the laser is no longer "running" up and down the track to read the umd
found one here for about the same price.
problem is that site has a 2 limit minimum so best to search around for a palce that has single units.
and it does look almost the same as the 2000 series but $30 is not a bad price.

nope. fixed it when the door opens now to eject the umd its got a small chasis attached to the door 2 metal slides each side which pulls a small light steel chasis out also pulling the umd out. these 2 metal slides sit in 2 slots on the umd door each side, they were bent i just bent them back out over lined them up with the door and as i closed the door these metal arms poped back into place. checked it a good few times and its working great, i thought it was the laser but it wasnt i paid a total of 52.00 and sold it for 95.00 quid. not a bad days work, it was also on 4.20 ofw so i updated it to 5.03????? theres a egg somewhere in here i here you say???? homebrew....... it sold within the first hour on ebay sweeeeeeeeeeet,
