Currently I have a semi-bricked Wii which I'm pretty sure is on the 3.3 or so firmware. However I cannot access my Wii Settings or set it up to go online. I get this error screen when I click on Wii Settings menu, http://img695.imageshack.us/i/image001zr.jpg/
I've looked a different methods.
I've also read about fixing semi-bricked Wii's with the WiiFix Disc. How its supposed to fix your Wii or whatever. I've burnt it to a disc with IMGBurn at 4x and went I put it into my Wii, the Wii does not read it. When I click on the disc channel on the top left it says ''unable to read disc''. Apparently its supposed to start up immediately and do its thing, but in this case it is not.
I'm not sure of any other way of actually fixing semi bricked Wii besides that. My firmware im pretty sure is 3.3 or so.
I apologize if theres a thread that answers similar questions such as these but theres 300 pages to look through.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm wanting to get back my Wii Settings channel and be able to connect to the internet on my Wii once more hopefully
Anyone that needs further information, let me know as well
thanks in advance to anyone that is able to help
Yeah I never updated to the 4.1 firmare, which I believe is with the NEW Super Mario Bros game.
Currently on my pre-loader screen only information I can gain access to is
IOS v30
and
Systemmenu v290
I'm trying to remember which exactly it got bricked at so I'd be able to provide more information for people. Only thing I know that its been awhile. I didn't mess with the Wii System settings till recently, but I'm pretty sure its been bricked awhile. I have Japanese channels on my channel page, but I'm just getting off topic here.
I'll keep trying to figure out the information you need and brain storm
Also I was wondering would updating to a 4.1 or 4.2(think its with new mario bros) firmware unbrick the Wii? if so will it render my games useless?
edit: I tried my friends version of Super Smash Bros Brawl so whatever firmware that is, I have it. So that might be able to narrow it down a bit
Yeah as long as the NSMB game is the same region as your system then it should unbrick the semi-brick. You could also use NUS and download system menu 4.2 (of your region) make sure Pack>Wad is ticked. then use WAD Manager to install the 3.2 firmware which should override the semi-brick.
