Because a lot of members use dialup a large file over 50,000 can take a while to load, especially since other members also have a sig gif. When we post to a thread we might also have 4 or 5 posts on one page and that can add up also. I believe that most sig gifs are that 50,000 or under size. :)

just out of curiosity, why did CFC1888 get banned?
