Hi everyone, this is my first post, but I've read 411 off this site for years. I recently came across and issue that I can't seem to figure out (or find direct information on) regarding 1.61 on a Lite On.

A friend of mine currently bought a 360 Elite that contains a 83850c Lite On drive (manufactured June 2009) that was previously flashed to ixtreme 1.6. I know this because I was able to pull it up through Jungle Flasher 0.1.67.Beta.

I've copied all the bin files from the LiteOn_iXtreme_v1.61_repack to the Jungle Flasher firmware folder. I can get the Dummy.bin from iXtreme, but when it asks to Auto Load ixtreme firmware and I click yes, I get this error message.

"Can't open file C:\Documents and Setting\XXXXXX\Desktop\JungleFLasher.0.1.67.Beta\JungleFlasher v0.1.67 Beta (50)\firmware\ix16-liteon838.bin"

Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I've flashed BenQ and Samsung drives and have never ran into this issues.

Also, the system is banned, so I'm not worried about it being banned in anyway.

Any help will be greatly appreciated, as I'm truly stumped with this one.

Jungle Flasher version 0.1.67 does not know to autoload the new iX 1.61 for LiteOns. Update to version 0.1.69.

Or, go over to the FirmwareTool32 tab and click "Open Target Firmware" and navigate to the .bin to select it. Then click "Spoof Source to Target".

Thank you leerage, picked up the latest Jungle Flasher. Next question, next problem...*sigh*

If I have the viamraid.sys driver removed, with Yellow Exclamation point in Device Manager, whenever I try to access the drive through Jungle Flasher, through I/O port 0xBC00,my computer locks up. However, if that driver is still in the driver folder and the device is enabled and working properly (through device manager) I get no lockup at all and can access the drive through JF.

I'm pretty sure everything I've read says to have the driver removed to avoid the Notorious Lite On Lockup, but how am I supposed to accces the 360 drive if the comp locks up without it all in working order?

Try using a startup floppy diskette with dvdkey/dosflash, my computer locks up in Windows more often than not and I've never had problems in DOS.

If you dont like using windows , you can also use frostythesnowmans bootable usb version 1.4 i think ? It has support for 8 series drive , just change the IXTREME file to 1.61 and voila. all done.

I never stated that I don't like using windows, I'd actually prefer to use the JF interface to do the mod. Appreciate the comments and if I have to, I'll go that route, but surely I can't be the only person that's run into this problem?

Ok everyone, since I couldn't access it with the drivers removed, I went for it with the drivers enabled. Followed the rest of the directoins for the Lite On flash, and everthing worked fine.

I don't have a connectivity kit to power the drive off an on quickly, so I pulled the power cable at the right time during the process...man were my hands sweating.
