I can't connect to games online..HELP ME PLEASE!

I have had no problems connecting to games until about two weeks ago. Now I can connect to the PSN and use the web browser, but no games. I put my PS3 in dmz, I had my internet provider time warner(worst company ever) replace my wireless modem/router, and I tried forwarding all the ports. When I tried forwarding the 80 port, I got a message that said "invalid port number input. the port is in used". I have a netgear cdg24g. Can anybody help?

I'm not familiar with that model router, but such issues usualy indicate a router issue. This is very comon in netgear routers, especialy the ones that don't have DD-WRT installed.

If you do a connection test on the PS3, it may give you a helpfull hint in the form of an error.

Try this ~ Bypass the router and connect the PS3 directly to the Cable Modem if it works then that means your router went bad or has an issue.

If the PS3 doesn't connect then it is either that your Cable Company has done something to limit the connection to the PSN or something is wrong with the PS3 software or hardware (maybe).

Also try doing this at someones house that you know that has a PS3 OR at least Broadband. If your PS3 does it over there while they have no problem, then you have narrowed it down to something wrong with the PS3.

Yeah, my ps3 works fine at my friends place. I might just have to bite the bullet and get my own modem. That was the one time warner supplied me with. God I hate time warner.
