Microsoft has no plans to exit China

article published on 15 January, 2010

Microsoft has gone in a different direction then Google and Yahoo, saying that it has no plans of exiting the Chinese search engine market. In speaking of the recent cyber-attack on Google, CEO Steve Ballmer said: "There are attacks every day. I don't think there was anything unusual, so I don't understand. We're attacked every day from all parts of the world and I think everybody else ... [ read the full article ]

"I don't understand how that helps us and I don't understand how that helps China."

Mr. Ballmer, You don't understand anything about human rights abuse in China?
With only 4% of the Chinese market share and no chance of ever catching up to Baidu's 60+ % share, it could be a good time to time to SUPPORT another American companies' stance on HUMAN RIGHTS.

MS could at least pretend to care and announce to China that it is seriously considering doing the same (even though I'm sure Mr.Ballmer hasn't got the balls to do this and is too greedy to even care).

Well with google and yahoo out of the way in China, bing can claim a little bigger chunk of the search market. Its probably the only way bing would be able to gain market share. I've tried bing, and think its a joke, they are still no where near google in relevance when doing a search.

Hmmm...maybe Bing works so bad for us because we are using a western charachter set...maybe it would work better if you used chinese?

Is this any suprise? It is microsoft! This is a company that writes a chinese version of their operating system, knowing that no one will buy it because even the chinese anti-piracy forces use pirated windows...they write it just to help the government. Evil powers often work together to make eachother more powerful (just look at the democrats and the republicans).

Democrats and Republicans, now there's a good example. Funny how people in America never question not having a third option.
