Hi,

My brother and I (quite independently!) both recently bought the Optorite DD0201 DVD recorder for our PCs. Both work well with a range of media and the drives are quiet and produce fast backups that play back well on the PC. However, when I have taken a disk and put it in my standalone DVD player it says "Loading..." but never gets round to playing the disk. It's as though it cannot find the 'lead-in' section of the disk. A Panasonic player at my place of work loads the disk and plays it very nicely.

The puzzling thing is that my standalone DVD player is not fussy with media. In fact, I have burnt other stuff onto the same brand of dvd-r at work and it plays fine on my standalone DVD player at home. My suspicion is that it may be a firmware issue, but having read warnings about going ahead, I didn't want to unless there was a very real possibility that this might actually fix the problem.

Any useful comments gratefully received!
