Earlier this week, Gawker offered up to $100,000 USD to anyone who could bring concrete proof of the existence of the much-hyped Apple Tablet, and they announced a winner today, with that winner being Apple itself after the company sent a cease-and-desist letter which calls for the end of the search for the "unannounced and highly confidential" product.

If only apple products were as good as their marketing campaigns, then we'd really have something. Look at all the free advertising they're able to milk out of everyone. Like apple or not, the way they sell and market their products is outstanding. From the way they market, to their well timed "leaks" they have people frothing at the mouth. Are people really biting their nails and sitting on the edges of their seats waiting for this thing to come out? Chalk another one up for the hype machine.
I knew that Apple fans were rabbit, mindless brand addict suckers...but for someone to pay $100,000 just for a picture of an apple...this is a new low. Apple could start a government!

It has everything to do with being the first and getting all that advertising revenue from said fans.
