I just installed a new Drivekey in my Wii. I've owned the Wii for over a year. I can access the drivekey configuration menu and it still plays original games just fine.

I first downloaded the latest NSMB torrent, extracted the ISO and trying to burn it. I am using Verbatim 16x DVD-R (with ASO sign on packing). I am using ImgBurn at 2x and 4x. No matter what I try, I continue to get "disc unreadible" with NSMB. It's the first game (ISO) that I've tried. I've also tried TDK branded DVD-R with same result.

Before I go too much further, anyone have any advise? Should I not start with NSMB, and try an older game/ISO? Should I try DVD+R? Can I assume my Drivekey is installed correctly since I can get to the configuration menu? What about my dvd burner? Does that tend to cause problems (brand, age, etc)?

If your wii is on 4.2 and using a modchip then you need to make sure the games you're downloading match your console's region, since out-of-region games are blocked on that firmware unless you softmod the console.

Also, NSMB has issues with modchips. It can be made to work, but for simplicity's sake I would start with a different game.
