Hey all,
I have a softmodded wii with an external hardrive and I wanted to add a game. I dl the (compressed)game, burned onto a tiyo Yuden dvd-r 2x speed, but the screen just rolls on me. What did I do wrong?
Thanks in advance

I'm very new to all this but I looked all over for the game options and can't find them. I have Neogamma r8 if that helps.

Force NTSC should be under Region Options in Neogamma.

To play games from a USB drive you need a USB loader, neogamma can't do it. Follow this guide to set it all up.

I already have a USB loader, can I change the options on that as well? I don't know where to change them.
Thanks

What exactly are you trying to do? Are you looking for a way to install the game to the USB device from the wii, without ripping to the PC first? Or are you looking for the same sort of options that you needed in the original post, to force the proper video output?

Basically I'm trying to figure out if this is a different issue or not.

Anyway... I cant speak for other USB loaders, but with the configurable USB loader you can add more games to the drive by pressing the + button and inserting a game disk (original or backup, both are fine). Games can be removed by selecting them and pressing the - button.

If you're looking for the settings, then you can find them by selecting a game and pressing the 1 button.

How are we supposed to tell you how to change options if you don't tell us what USB loader your using?

There are multiple ones lout there plus multiple versions of them.

USB Loader GX

Apparently I can't take anything off my HD because I can't find the - button. I see the +, but not the -.

I did find the options menu but I can't find the Force NTSC option.

I meant the + and - buttons on the wiimote. And I would recommend switching to configurable USB loader. It has better comparability and more options. Plus it's more popular so it is a lot easier to get help when using it.

I had it done for me so I have to live with it. Does this mean I can only play that disc on Neogamma and not my hd?

There is disc options in USB Loader GX you just have to find them.

Before you start the game you should be able to select start the game or options. Go to options and look at all the sub options in that menu to find force NTSC (it should be under video mode).

This isn't rocket science dude.

1) Download CFG USB loader from this thread.

2) Put it on your SD card.

3) Start it from HBC.

That's it.

If you want to go a step further then you can download a forwarder channel (also available on that same site) and install it with the wad manager. That will automatically start the USB loader from the SD without needing to boot the homebrew channel every time.
