Which optical drive should I buy?

Alright, my optical drive (BenQ/Phillips) is refusing to read disks, i'm assuming it's something to do with the laser or something, anyways, I know you need to extract the drive key by connecting it to your pc (Though i've yet to find an up to date thorough guide on how to do this), but after that, which drive would currently be the best to put into my 360?

BENQ is the best drive and probably the cheapest you can buy. Look on ebay I've gotten some BENQs for $20.00 I would suggest using Jungleflasher type that in the search bar or google the program itself comes with instructions for all the drives.

Stick with BenQ, and do one of the following:

1. You may need to tweak or replace the laser.

2. Buy another drive and spoof/flash the old one's key to the new one.

3. You could buy another identical BenQ and switch the pc boards on them.

Benq and Lite On boards have wires soldered to them, so swapping boards would require a low watt soldering iron. It's real basic soldering. Nice big pads.

Thanks for the advice so far, one more question though, is the CK3 connectivity kit essential? OR does it just make it easier to perform the flash? I understand the drive needs to be turned on and off to successfully connect it, but can't this just be done by removing and reinserting the power cable? (Though I understand this might not be a good idea if the xbox is already on)
