Hi guys, i am having problem installing XEXLoader on my new jtagged xbox.

I have downloaded 3 different version of XEXloader from XBINS (ISO, XEX & GOD), the GOD version is the only one with the "C0DE9999" folder the instructions refer to, so I used that one.

I formatted my M$ 60GB drive in the 360 and then connected it to my PC, I created a Content/0000000000000000/ folder on my desktop and placed my CODE9999 folder in there and copied all of that in to partition 3. It all looks OK though xplorer360, but nothing nows up in my games list on my dashboard. If i them explore the drive I can still see everything I put in at Partition 3 /Content/0000000000000000/C0DE9999

I know the XBR install & the JTAG are OK as it boots in to XELL and I have dumped and compared the nand and it matchs my custom NAND

I have also tried installing a Genesis emulator & SNES emulator which didnt work either. Any idea where im going wrong.

Go get xexmenu1.0 as that's the latest/greatest. Then burn the .iso to a cd or dvd and run it in your 360.
Then copy the code9999 folder either from the cd/dvd or if you put the folder on a usb flash drive with your emulator files and then copy them over.

One xexmenu is on your hdd it will be available from you games menu in the nxe dash.

XBOX Halo Ed. = DuoX2 w/250gb HD
Xbox 360 Red Elite 120GB HDD = no-stealth 1.6 & XBReboot V3 & 1TB usb hdd
PS2 Slim = freemcboot v1.8 - PSP Black Slim = 5.00m33-6
Wii = w/ Blue XCM ii-case, Wiikey2 & softmodded

Yeah go to dashboards folder and then look for the one that says xexmenu it should be dated 01/17/10.

With homebrew, can games be run off the internal hd without the disk or just from the external usb hd? Is it worth putting homebrew on an old 360 with when there is a high chance of getting rrod? And besides being able to use emulators, what are the major advantages of homebrew over just flashing the drive?

With homebrew, you can run games from your xbox HDD or a USB external HDD without a disk. If you have a xbox with a compatible keral, I would say go for it.

Advanges :

Play XBLA for free
Download DLC for free
Play all your games of M$ HDD or USB HDD
You are able to replace the 2.5 M$ drive with any size in the M$ Case
Ability to run HomeBrew (SNES, Mega Drive emus's)
FTP client to easily add games to your HDD.

Disadvantages :

Will get you a InstaBan on M$ Live
Ballache to do the soldering (apart from xenon boards)

What is the 2.5 M$ drive? I could get an exploitable xenon but it will likely get rrod as all xenon's do so is it worth my while? Also, older 360s don't have hdmi ports so I wouldn't be able to play games in 1080p. Do games play as fast from the usb drive as they do from the internal hd? How hard are Jasper models to solder? I can't see how jtaging the console is more advantageous than simply flashing the drive, especially with LT out. The only important difference I see is the extra ?2 price every game for the verbatim disc. Usually, significantly large dlc is released in retail and a lot of dlc is online based anyway so the ability to get free dlc isn't a great advantage. There aren't many arcade games that interest me and I've no interest in the emulator either. How large of an internal hd can be used with a jtaged console? Sorry for all the questions. Appreciate any info.

a 2.5 drive is a laptop sized hard drive, a official Microsoft Harddrive is also 2.5. Microsoft only do 20, 60, 120 & 250gb version

All xenons do not get RROD, i have a 5 year old one thats still running perfectly. Yes the have slightly inproved the design in the later board revisions, but not to an extent where it doesnt RROD anymore.

You can still connect via component which is I belive 1080p (or maybe i) which is still an amazing res.

yes AFAIK, but im using a internal hard drive so I cant say for sure

There is 1 point that it a proper ballache, its db1f1, its alternate points are just as bad.

Really?

So the ability to have all your games on one hard drive and no disks needed isnt advantageous

Or being able to play XBLA games for free

Or having DLC for free

Or being able to FTP your games to the xbox like the good old days :D

and just wait till XMBC360 is released :D

No upper limit AFAIK, i know 1TB ones have been used.

Lol thanks for the replies. Where could I get a 1tb drive? That would be sweet. I'm going to buy a jtag box off ebay. I just don't think its as big a deal as people make it out to be. For example, simply changing disks doesn't take much more time or hassle than switching from one game on the hd to another. Most useful dlc is online-based and couldn't be used on a jtagged box. Burning a disk doesn't take that long and verbatims are cheap enough. Arcade games can be good but there are just so many retail games to play instead. I hope someone finds a way to exploit new kernels.
