Hi all I knw there is a few threads allready on the above game but can not seem to get the info I need from them so hence a new thread
I have downloaded a version of the game i belive it is pal and my console is pal, but when I try to run it through update remover regionfrii and iso patcher I get an error message saying it is not a valid iso
My console is hard modded but I also run neogammer 7 v14 now if I burn the game to disc it works through the game channel but not through neogammer (just get black screen)that is ok for me but its my mate who wants the game and he only has neogammer on his pal console.
any ideas on why i get the error message when checking the game out and why it does not work in neo but does in game channel

I had a hard time getting Guitar Hero 5 to play on my softmodded wii. My Wii that has a wiikey one with no softmod played it fine.
In order to get it play via neogamma on the softmod only Wii i had to install Hermes CIOS 222/223 and then tell Neogamma to load the game using that IOS as opposed to ISO 249 which is what I think the loader uses by default.
At the time I softmodded my console there was no mention of Hermes in the softmod guide larry made up so I had to find a standalone guide for that but I believe that is now part of his standard "How to Softmod your Wii" guide available on the first page of this forum or via the stickies. Check out the guide and follow those steps.
You might also want to make sure you are using the most current CIOS revision. If you are using a softmod only Wii and a game won't load chances are you are missing a required IOS file or you need to update to the latest revision CIOS.
I followed the 4.2guide a week or 2 ago, I've just got hold of GH5 and I'm struggling to understand the instructions to get gh5 working - I just get a black screen (I was about to throw away the disk until I realised it was more likely to be a config problem than a bad ISO)
Seems from the last post in this thread that changing the ios neogamma uses is a simple solution...but how do i do that? I was hoping it would be in the neogamma menu but i can't see it.
I have a soft modded wii and I get games from gamefly, when I get the games I rip them to my HDD....I'll be getting GH5 soon in the mail and will let you know the results...I should know in about a week from now.
My wii is one of the originals from 2006 and has no hard mod. I used the soft mod and am confident I did the soft mod correctly. So I will let you know how my GH5 rip turns out when I get the game in the mail next week.
slightly more difficult for me because
1. I don't have the USB loader GX
2. I don't have a USB drive :(
I'm wondering if I missed out something from the softmod guide...maybe I did enough to get most things working but missed a vital step needed for GH5? Would be nice if someone also trying to run the game from DVD would give some input - even if just to say "it won't work"
