Hello everybody, i have been searching the forums for quite some time now and have the process of flashing pretty much memorized but there is one thing that continues to be unclear to me. I have bridged R707 and R708 together on the board of my liteon to eliminate the need for a probe but do i still require a CK3 pro (no serial on my pc) connectivity kit?
My onboard sata is compatible as jungle flasher recognizes the drive but when i experimented with reading the key i got the "bad serial data" error message. I have ordered the ck3 pro either way as i find the power cycle function a lot more liberating than using the 360's power and i am wondering if this is all i will need and if it is absolutely necessary even though i have bridged R707 and R708. I have read many contradictory posts with regards to this question and i was just wondering if anybody can shed some light here.
Also, is there any possible way to recognize an invalid key for the drive besides spoofing? I ask because i do not have a second 360 drive for testing.

Once you have bridged those 2 solder points, you do not need a probe as you mentioned. You dont need the connectivity kit as you can use your xbox to power your drive (which I assume you have been doing)
The only way to truly know if you have got a bad key is to spoof to another drive and try it. If you are unable to do this, I would recommend dumping your firmware serveral times to make sure the keys match.
Thank you very much for your reply I guess I will have to be quicker on the power cycle as I do suspect that is the reason I was getting the bad serial data error. I will try again today. My kit should be arriving latest tomorrow so if I can not succeed today I will simply wait for the kit and make my life easier :)
Had another question, will i be able to rip xbox 360 originals using the modded drive while connected to my pc with the new LT firmware on my liteon? i have read the benQ 0800 drive is the best combo but was just wondering if i would be able to successfully make a backup of a 360 game (stealthed of course) with a liteon flashed with LT firmware. Also with the breaking news of the release im extremely happy i didnt have time to mod the drive earlier today! :D

We dont know until its released but I dont think it will have 0800 (ripping) support. They are trying to make it look like original M$ firmware.
EDIT : Jeez its out already, dont think it has 0800 support though.
hmm i guess i will have to get a replacement drive and spoof it with the 1.6 firmware. At least it would save me the hassle of removing the drive when i want to make a backup! :) thanks for the quick replies i will be back with any other questions!
