Ok i started this thread because i am new to the site and i can not reply to a thread thats older than 60 days.
Ok so my problem is this. I muxed a >MKV file of a blueray rip that's 720p and i copied it over to my ps3 no problem..but when i played it I don't get any sound and so i checked the original file on my comp and same thing.. but i get sound when i play the original .MKV file?
any ideas?
i will explain further, with a lot of IFs. if your original file is an mkv that has an audio file using the AACcodec, and if you are attempting to remux with TSmuxeR then TSmuxeR will ignore your audio file b/c after all, its only a muxer, not a transcoder. this will leave you with a soundless file. someone please chime in if im wrong.
well I figured it out. But I want to clarify some things.
Muxing ..the TRmuxing program seems to ignore any file thats is DTS audio?? secondly i used a program called MKVTOVOB.
So is the MKVTOPS3 any better? And lastly will you lose any image quality by doing this? Thanks.
DTS or whatever, you need ac3 basically if it aint ac3 you need to transcode the audio which means you need to demux first, transcode the audio second, and remux third.
also, transcoding the audio has nothing to do with the video.
mvtovob is wat i ment, i ve never noticed any quality loss with it n ive done about 40 movies 720p and 1080p with works great justnote wat it says about DTS soundamd ur golden
