connecting 360 to pc i need help

I want to connect my xbox to my pc but cant do it. my broadband is through a bt home hub i have a network cable running from the hub into my xbox and my pc is connected to the hub via a wirless network plugin thing i can't seem to find my pc when i'm looking through the test connection scren on my 360 please help as it's doing my nut in now

Few questions.....

Do you have any software firewalls installed on your PC?

What is it you are trying to achieve by connecting your xbox to your PC?

What you run the connection test on your xbox, does it confirm that your ethernet is working OK

i wish to view my movie and music files, it don't even list my computer name on the xbox after running test i think i've got software firewalls installed aint entirly sure i got windows firewall if thats anything to go by

hi

have you tried This yet?

i believe to link the pc to the media centre you have to follow the guidelines in the link above. this gives you an 8 digit code to pair the 2 units.

hi
i am running on xp service pack 3 it is not listed in the link you gave me. i have allowed sharing in media center but my xbox is not listed in the menu i've also setup a home network but that hasn't worked guess i should leave computers alone get someone who knows what they are doing cheers anyway mate

Try installing TVersity. That works pretty much straight out of the box for most people.

+1. Defo great peice of software. Works with pretty much all formwats and converts it to play on your xbox on the fly. This will get rid of all the M$ issues.
