Ok i want to put blue LEDs in my wireless controller. I done it to my wired one but as i figured out the wireless wont take them as easily. There is a fix to this but i have no clue what it is does any one know what fixes this?

if you are talking about the SMDs for the rol, then you can just swap them out with any color 0603 SMDs and they'll work fine. if your trying to light up buttons, im pretty sure there is a different spot you have to pull the power from, ive only done it to wired controllers.

there is a fix for wireless controllers to allow blue leds. if you use regular surface mount leds they are almost not visible but work fine on wired ones

Blue led's require too much power for them to work in the CG wireless controller. There is no way to fix this. White doesn't work either.

Edit: Plugging the play and charge kit in constantly would have enough power. A joule thief would probably work aswell... I doubt it would be possible to connect it though.

one of my controllers has blue and white smds in it and it works fine, theyre pretty bright too, didnt do anything different from any other color i used.

Edit: i also use battery packs instead of AAs, not plugged in.

i have seen blue in a wireless controller with my own eyes and well as white so i know it can be done and yes they were SMDs. I know the charge kit trick and i havent tried AAs but i have done the battery pack and they were dim. i am going to try AAs to see if it will work though

EDIT: I just put AAs in my controller and it works fine. You cant use charge packs apparently to run them but AAs works fine

Your controller would be the old style matrix board then, they're the best for modding. CG controllers (new style board) cannot power blue or white smd leds.

this is a fresh controller from the new console releases. traded my old modded one for it when friend bought a 360. I know it is a voltage issue and it can be fixed with some hands on. currently have a different mod in progress though.

Does it look like this:

or this

The blue 0603 leds have a foward voltage of around 3.2-3.5v and the CG only outputs 2.4v so in theory it doesn't work. I have heard of a few people using blue leds on CG boards with great success though. It seems as though there is some CG controllers that do power blue leds and others that don't (here is a good example). Maybe there is a different revision CG that looks identical to the original.

I've had success with blue on cg's. But yes, there is a voltage issue. I actually ran in to some blue smd's with a lower forward requirement.

And of course, I'm almost out and I can't for the life of me remember where I got these.

See thats results i wanted. I knew it was very much possible. If you could find that again i would be more than happy to know myself. I cant seem to find the LEDs i need for both my mods. I need yellow and green for a case and some for three rings of light. I need those blue ones for a halo style controller i am making...... Need all the info lol.

i know the controller i used was a CG as well, and my lights work fine, ill post a pic later. dont know where everyone else shops for leds, but i got to unique-leds.com. they have amber smds which should be yellow. i get my 3mm and 5mm from ebay tho, you can get 100 for around $10, but you gotta watch because some of them sell from hong kong and take a month to get to you.

For the rol, just use 0603's mounted on their side.
