hello i recently received a modded xbox360 but i don't know what mod was done to it. is there a way to check what mod he used? this is my first xbox system ever and i'm not sure how the modding works and i was wondering do i have to even worry about what mod was used? because for the psp i have to keep reflashing for newer games. is that a situation for the xbox 360? will i ever have to mod it again? thanks in advance!

Since your drive is already flashed as you say, you don't need a probe if you have a 74850c drive, you can dump your key, and read all of your info without the probe or soldering.

The only way you can find out what mod has been done to your xbox is to open it up.

Firstly look for a chip, it will be sitting on top og the xbox motherboard normally (sometimes they are soldered on to the drives PCB i belive). You probably havent got chip, they are quite rare.

If you cannot see a chip, the drive firmware is most likely modded. You will need to connect your drive to a Via 6421a sata card(or if you have nforce motherboard this might work) and dump your firmware. You will then need to open your dumped firmware in Jungleflasher and it will tell you what firmware it is. There are guides in the sticky at the top of this forum that will tell you how to do this.

If you are wanting a easier way to find out how it was modded, then the best way is to ask the person you bought it from.
