Hi all im new, and 1st of all would like to say hi! Right i have a 1tb external hard drive in fat32 format, that the ps3 reads and i have transfered loads of films via usb as i wanted but heres the problem....a few films that i have are 1080p and are 8gig and above and it wont copy. when u plug the drive into the laptop to start copying it says copying and nothing happens. small files that are up to 4 gig no problem at all but the big boys wont copy. I have exhausted in reading the forums and no joy. Can anyone please help me im dying to watch predator 2 in 1080p :). Thanks in advance

As you know, external devices have to be FAT32, which has a limit of 4GB per file, you either beed to spilt your movie, or stream it directly to the PS3 and copy it to the external HDD.

lol i just said, cant you see, the largest file that you can place on FAT32 is 4GB, there is no way around that.

i have given up on streaming as it keeps sayin media server error and wont do it, hence me buying the hard drive really need to get these films on, the funny thing is that there is a full 1080i film on the drive that works perfect that the guy gave me, if he got it to work there must be a way to transfer!!!

The internal drive of the PS3 isnt FAT32, so if your movie is only 8GB, burn it to a Dual Layer DVD and copy it to the internal HDD :)

Not sure, there is an option when using streaming, to copy the file instead of streaming it, if you used ethernet to do that, it might be possible.
EDIT:
Most modern laptops and PC's have Dual Layer burners, if they dont, you can buy a decent PC one quite cheap.
