MOST effective way to play hd mkv's..

There's countless topics of how to play HD(720p/1080p) mkv files on the ps3, by installing linux, or converting/muxing, but which way is the most effective? While keeping quality and minimizing file size. mp4 or m2ts? :S Any help would be appreciated (Y)

The program mkv2vob. Video stays the same quality, the audio could stay or be slightly adjusted. I have it outputting as MPEG. Looks and plays great and takes less than 5 minutes to convert a full mkv movie. Burn onto a disc and you are all set.

I use multiAVCHD for stuff that needs soft subtitles and tsMuxer and Super for everything else.
