After replacing blu ray assembly cant insert discs PS3?

I am working on an older PS3 for a friend. The blu ray drive wasnt working so I ordered a replacement blu ray assembly (its not in front of me but I think it is a KEM-4000A or something). After replacing assembly and reassembling blu ray drive the drive wont pull a disc in. The blue light on the front of the console just flashes. Im sure its something small im overlooking cause this is my first ps3 repair. Any help or direction would be much appreciated.

Did you correctly attach the disc sensor when you re-assembled everything?

Im not sure. This is my first PS3 repair. I have done countless 360s and psps(actually had a website for psp repair). But my first PS3. Dont even know where that is. If you could explain in detail that would be cool.
