Fixed YLOD this afternoon... but now when I send A/C power to the unit it turns on automatically, beeps once, beeps again, and then goes into standby. The power button then does not work.

It definately does not show YLOD.

What could this be?

Phat or Slim? Can you turn it on with a controler PS button? If so, does it turn right back off?

edit, if it is a Slim then the small spring in the Power On button is out of place.

phat 60GB, no PS3 controller does not work either wireless or USB

I have no experience with the Phat on/off Touch button but it sounds as if it is made all of the time. Is there a way to disconect the on/off button on a Phat?

Well, I've now tried

a) powering on with the top panel removed
b) swapping the IO board

both with the same result.

Also tried disconnecting various things including the Bluray drive.
