PS3 will not recognise external hardrive!

My external drive shows up on my computer and I put the proper folders on the drive (PS3, Music, Movies....etc) but it doesn't show up on the PS3. There is security software on the drive, and I am just wondering if this may be a problem. The drive is a Maxtor Black Armor 160 GB drive, and I have already formatted it to FAT32. Any help would be appriciated, Thanks!

A few threads back there was someone else who had the same issue. I think the issue with his was indeed the security software. You may have to get rid of the security.

Don't take my word for it, though.

I am pretty sure it is the security software to. I know I need to get rid of it but when I delete the files on the hard drive but they come back everytime I connect it to the computer again. I guess I need help to remove the the software.

Just wipe it clean, put a new MBR on it, and format. They call this crap security software...I call it a virus.

Can you tell me how to do this. I have wiped it and deleted the partion and formatted it again! So how do I put a new mrb on it?
