Best Firmware for a banned box?

I've got a lite-on box that's banned, and I'm just wondering what's the best firmware to flash it to so I don't have to worry about putting in the activate disk when I want stuff. I've also got an old ms28 (i think) drive in an RROD'd box that I could use some really early firmwares on if neccessary.
Also, is it possible to play xbox 1 backups on a 360? I've got some old backups on dvds lying around that I'd love to play again. I remember reading something somewhere about some old firmware that would read it, but I can't find any proof of it now.

you mean the 1.6 NON stealth one? so you dont need active iso and still maintain 0800?

I thought that the new LT was supposed to have waveless booting? So wouldn't that have the same effect as 1.6, i also don't play on live and just want stuff to boot without having to update again

If you have a samsung drive and you have uncrippled your hard drive, you could always go for the old xtreme 5.3 firmware and play xbox 1 games from a DVD5, it will also boot any wave games

LT does have waveless booting, but you cant have best of both worlds meaning NO 0800, 1.6 did have a revision to play games recently (I think it was like 2 weeks ago) . However to get this new update LT, you need to update Dashboard before modding.

i guess i'm not sure what you mean. I have 1.51 right now, if i just have my modder update to LT am i going to be all set with the waveless booting, or do i need to do something first. Remember i don't want to play it onlive

It depends on what drive you have got, for instance 1.51 for the Hitach will boot any wave, but BenQ, Samsung & Lite-on wont.

That was only for extreme 5.3, I pretty sure that to play xbox 1 game you install them on your hard drive drive.

That was only for extreme 5.3, I pretty sure that to play xbox 1 game you install them on your hard drive drive.
How did you play xbox games before NXE?

i have a sammy with 5.3a and i burned some xbox 1 games on dvd 5 and none worked they were all on the backwards compatibility list =( is there something i dont know? cause i just got a image and read simply burn it to dvd5 and tried it in my machine it says the title of the game but when i try to play i get a error ..cant remember which error but probably ''cannot play this'' something similar

ok i have a liteon with 1.51, wanting waveless booting, wondering if just putting LT on will accomplish that or if i have to have it brought back to stock firmware first, xboxlive doesn't matter just want the waveless booting for good

Heres your options, You want 0800, You need 1.6 = Only downside is you will need active iso to play new games (wave 3 & up or 4 n up, )
I would suggest you use a banned xbox for that
If you have to play online, get LT, but beware you need ssv2, so buying a backup drive with 0800 is the way to go.
If you dont CARE about live, then just get LT and rip your games, LT plays everything,
Bottom line is LT lets you play and makes YOU be aware of your own creations(Games) You rip, burn and secure as you see fit. This is a bigger PLAY AT YOUR OWN RISK for live.

i was just worried because someone said that i had to put my 1.51 back to the stock firmware, do updates and then flash to LT. But i don't care about playing on live so i just wondered if updating from 1.51 on a liteon to LT would still get me waveless booting

Because non-stealth firmware doesn't care what wave a game is. It boots it regardless. That's the whole point of it.
