Problem with hacked Xbox and Mass Effect 2

So we got a copy of Mass Effect 2 and it gave an error message about needing an update in order to be able to play. I haven't seen anything about a downloadable update online anywhere.

Our Xbox is modded and I am wondering how I can go about getting the new update without connecting to xbox live. Any help? Thanks ahead of time.

i inserted disc 2 and it updated itself WITHOUT signing in to xbox live.

Same problem here. I put in disc 1, or disc 2 (doesn't matter - same result) and it just does an endless cycle of a mandatory update. It tries to install it, and when you think it's done- it restarts and when I run the game again it does the update all over again. I even went to the xbox website and downloaded latest update onto a flash drive and tried to install it that way, but that didn't work either. Sorry about the bad grammar and rambling on, but I'm running out of ideas here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try get hold of a retail copy either by borrowing or renting and see if it will update from an original disc !!

I had same problems as you are describing with 2 xbox's but i just connected them to live for the updates but if this isn't an option for you then at least its worth a shot!
