Please forgive me for such a basic question but I am new here and trying to get my head around all the information. I have soft modded Xbox 360, I am not sure what version firmware I have as it was modded by a third party, but from my readings on this site probably 1.51. I am pretty sure I have a Liteon drive. I only have about 9 games, 3 originals and half a dozen back up games, and up until now all have worked flawlessly. I recently purchased a back up copy of Fifa 10 and can't play it, the DVD screen comes up. I am guessing it is because I require newer firmware but I have also downloaded the microsoft dash updates onto a CD. My question is will upgrading the dash effect the performance of my Xbox (I don't go on live and will not be going on live). So if I use the CD I have burned the update to to update my xbox I assume my xbox will still work the way it does now with playing backups, is that correct? I am hoping (although unlikely) that the dashboard update will allow me to play Fifa 10 however from my understanding this is unlikely to work.
I have had my Xbox since Christmas of 2008 and have never updated it until now.
