Hi I recently installed both USB loader GX and cfg USB loader which I have to say I am really impressed with. The problem I find is that I have to keep plugging the usb hard drive into my PC every time I want to get a new game. Is there a way to FTP the games across to the wii and then to get usb loader to detect them?

I stand to be corrected but I don't recall reading that you can use WBFS manager with a network. It looks to me like one has to physically connect the HD to the PC containing WBFS manager.

As far as I know you can't FTP them. But FTPing would probably take more time then just hooking the USB Device to your PC.

Well I see what yer saying but the problem is my hard drive is going to be hidden away at the back of my TV unit so its a pain in the **** to be taking it out all the time. I thought I read somewhere someone saying about ftp the games over?

I have never heard of FTPing games. The only thing I know that can be done is using WiFi to backup a game disc. You might want to try googling Wii FTP and see if that brings anything up.

How far is your PC from your Wii? You could always get a USB cord extender. That way you only have to disconnect the USB cord from the Wii and add the extender.

UPDATE: I did a Google search myself and this guide came up HERE. As Always Google is your friend.

It took me 40 minutes to FTP Animal Crossing which is a little over 300MB. A heck of allot longer then just connecting the USB Device to the PC which takes less then a minute to transfer.

why don't you just buy extra USB cable rather than the HDD being taken out/move around, just the USB cable that you need to move from the Wii to laptop.

Ok so I think this will work if I format my Hard drive entirely to Fat32 then I should be able to ftp the games over in WBFS files and they should be picked up by the loaders.

It your time dude.

I think your crazy waisting that much time FTPing games to your Wii. Did you even read how long it took me to FTP over a 300MB game?

That's really strange to be honest. I'm generally able to ftp over 700 meg files to my xbox in about 5 mins less. Unless FTPing in general is slower with Wii I dunno Ill try it and report back my findings.

Precisely why my HDD is in an accessible place.

Besides, if you're using WBFS manager to manage your .isos, you need to use it (WBFS Manager) to scrub the .isos and put them on the HDD.

Do you use WiFi for FTPing to XBOX or Lan(Cable)?

WiFi is allot slower then a Lan connection.

"I'm generally able to ftp over 700 meg files to my xbox in about 5 mins less. Unless FTPing in general is slower with Wii" . . . "

Especially since Wii only supports 802.11 b/g. (54Mbps) and the Xbox has a wired 10/100 connection.

I use wireless "g" on my xbox too and I get between 2.5 - 3 mb/s. This is seriously slow this is more like "b" then "g" I'd say I'm getting. My speed when FTPing with the Wii is about 240 - 300 kb/s. I have my router set to "G only" not "mixed". I really hope this is a limitation in the software then the Wii's hardware.
