Need Help ASAP/Revirginize wii 4.2e

I am tried to softmod my nephews wii but cant get it to work plauy backup games.I updated it to 4.2e via wifi thinking it would wipe everything so I could start a fresh.

Can anyone tell me a way to remove everything and start a fresh softmod.

I have seen loads of guides but I need a easy to follow 1(I know I sound slow)

If this is a newer Wii system then it is possible you have one of the new drives that will not play backup games. In this case you will need to use a USB loader to run the backups.

There is really no reason to revirginize your system. Just follow the 4.2 Softmod guide in my sig (again if backup disc will not play you probably have one of the new drives).

Followed the guide all the way with no probs till I get to where i have to "downgrade IOS15"

I press A to "load IOS from sd card"

Then i get this below???

Could not open file: sd:/IOS15-64-v523.wad
Could not open file: sd:/IOS15-64-v523.wad.out.wad
Error reading IOS into memory
Downgrade faied
Press any button to exit...

Any idea's?

Did you place the WAD files at the root that you downloaded with NUS?

If you placed the folders in the root then it will not work. You need to transfer the WAD files themselves.

If you downloaded the WAD properly and transfered the WAD files to the SD Card and it still doesn't work then you may need to try a different SD card.

I opend uo the sd card and the files i transfered are tmd files?

As in tmd.257

should the files say wad.257?

The files should be named the same as what I have in the guide. Did you even read it? Don't rename them either. If you use NUS properly to download the WAD files you should not have to rename them.

They should be named...

IOS15-64-v257.wad
IOS15-64-v523.wad
IOS36-64-v3351.wad
IOS38-64-v3610.wad

Yes i ahve read it.I dont think this laptop(my brothers) as frameowrk.net installed.Could that be way they arent showing as wads???

You must not have read the guide that well if your asking how to install a USB Loader.

There is a big bold section named USB LOADER SECTION:
