>> Ski-lleR released a new homebrew beta dashboard for the Xbox360:
[QUOTE]
To help with the future development of a complete replacement solution for the Microsoft dashboard, I'm working on a homebrew intended to be a rather interesting base.
Actually, the program contain :
* Interface with tab system for navigate trough main function
* Listing of downloaded content (WIP...)
* FTP server
* Image viewer
* Text viewer
* Listing of extracted game :
1. Show icon of the game (manually extract with Y -> "Extraire l'icone")
2. Show preview of the game (manually extract with Y -> "Extraire preview")
3. Extract full HD picture of the game directly in Wallpaper folder (Y -> "Extraire l'image HD")
* File browser :
1. Dual browse view
2. Move/Copy/Delete/Create (Multi-selection like unleashX on the work eg. you press X, that select the current, and go to next entry)
3. File property (WIP...)
4. Extract of DVD with Y (WIP...)
5. Archives handling (tar, tar.gz, zip in extract/compress, rar in extract, WIP...)
6. Contextual menu handle all of this functionnality. You can also define a folder as a game folder by selecting "Definir comme dossier ŕ scanner" in browser.
* Option system :
1. Option are automatically registered in a .ini file
2. You can modify the skin, who have to be in subfolder of skin directory
3. You can modify wallpaper. Picture must be in Wallpaper directoryr
4. A scan list for extracted game (from here, you remove the folder, and from browser, you add a folder, simple!)
5. You can activate a background music
6. You can choose to show or hide log
Source will be released soon, for now, you can found a compiled beta floating around ;)
Install Note :
Copy "IngeniouX" folder in the root of a device (hdd, usb ...)
Copy "C0DE9998" folder in hdd:\Content\000000000000000000 (remove IngeniouXusb or IngeniouXhdd, depend on where you put IngeniouX folder)
Launch, and enjoy

Just did a little testing, it has some potential. Games need to be in a custom folder for them to show up in the list automatically, not a big deal. Auto extract of images works well as does the FTP feature, I did notice that it freezes up when done using FTP, must restart xbox, also it was freezing on me when I would extract the preview images sometimes. Launching of games seems to work good as well as the options menu, (can't really change anything except turning music on/off and hiding the log file) The main dislike I have with this at the moment is that it is not in english, its kinda hard to mess around with things when you can't read what your doing. All in all seems like a very good start, keep up the good work guys!!! :)

ok so from your post I take it that this is a good first step but there is some work to be done before this is actually going to be used by everyone. Quick question, how fast was the FTP transfer?

Yeah needs some work, FTP speeds were about the same as XeXmenu, I think fastest speed was around 5-7MB/s, wasn't really paying attention but I know I get that with XeXmenu.

Thx for the test.
Actually, game don't have don't be in specific folder. You can select a folder in the file browser, press y, and use "Définir comme dossier jeux". Then directory will be added to ini file for automatic scanning (in option, you can view list of directory, and remove them by pressing Y -> "retirer de la liste"
Here is a small translation if you want to test in english

No all is translated, since some string are hardcoded, but language handling is a goal for the first final version. For now, the main thing are in english

Did you actually write this SkilleR66, if so, very impressive work. I would install but I am not very good at french. Any idea when a english version will be released (or is that link you have posted a english version?). I will happily install as my default dash for the foreseeable future

Yeah it's me, my nick is always Ski-lleR, but - is not authorized. When it's the case, i use SkilleR666 (i missed a 6 ^^).
Thanks
The link i posted is the scene skin, it contain the interface design, the different objets, the text of objets, the animation etc... so i translated the scene, for a temporary use by non french people. Copy scene.xur in IngeniouX\skin\default (replace existing), and most text will be in english (log are still in french, since hardcoded like i say previously).
People contacted me to be the translator of english version. Because in final, language will be stored in language folder (french.ini, english.ini etc ...)
