Ok, so I put original fw back on my lite on, updated on live. Now Im trying to put liteon lt firware on my drive and I get failed verification at the end. Do I use the auto feature on jungle flasher? Im going by this tutorial because I cant find a 1.70 tut.

Does the drive still eject?

Make sure you have your DVDkey etc before continuing.

Connect it back up to the same SATA port you were using and make sure the same I/O Port is selected in JF. Click LiteOn erase and click OK to the next 2 prompts. Once you see the dots go across the bottom, disconnect the power cable from the back of the drive for 1 second and then plug it back in. If you are using a connectivity kit, you can shut it off and then turn it back on. You should get 0x72 status and you can write the firmware now.

I doubt your drive is bricked, it's probably stuck in vendor mode but jungleflasher is crashing on you. I would disconnect all your other non-essential devices, swap sata ports and try from the top all over again. If you can get into jungleflasher again and can't get the drive to detect send the intro manually.

"All drives should be updated to Lite Touch + (LT+) firmware if playing on XBOX live. Samsung drives and pre-78/79 Hitachi drives do not utilize AP 2.5. All other drives are considered to be detectable by Microsoft (YMMV). Make sure all rips are ABGX verified, contain SSv2, and patched AP2.5 (where needed). XGD3 must currently be burned on new drive with PC Burner Max firmware for 100% rip. All modded consoles can be potentially unsafe for use on XBOX live."

Dude, use the edit button instead on double/triple posting. Have you uninstalled the via drivers for your MB. I read that this can cause issues.

if you mean removing these "viamraid.sys" or "vsmraid.sys" then yes, but I will double check as I did this a while ago

sorry about the multiple posts

ok turns out the via.sys was still in the drivers folder, I got rid of that and put portio32.sys in the folder. rebooted. I tried erasing the drive again but it said returned to 0x7F device intro failed. the good news is jf isnt crashing anymore. So since then I clicked intro/deviceID in the flashing tasks and device still failed. Drive is still not being detected.

I noticed theres a FTD2XX.dll file in the jungleflasher folder, should I be copy pasting that somewhere?

You can't brick a liteon. If JF can't fix the issue than you can always just use the dos method to write the firmware.
