Hi,

I have spent awhile searching for this answer and found varying responses so decided to ask my specific question and apologise in advance if its been asked allot,

I got a modded Wii last May 2009 with latest Wikkey 2 and firmware at the time but not sure now what that is now, i have very rarely played the wii and have recently purchased games for it, when inserted ( Alvin and the Chipmunks 2 - not for me ) it asked to update the firmware, my question is will this brick my Wii, i don't have it connected to internet and don't use homebrew on it, i've played some back ups on this and that was it, the backup is from the same region as well...so any info/recommendation would be greatly appreciated...

It is safe to update as long as the game disc is the same region as your system.

Updating your system with an out of region update can brick/semi-brick your system.
